* locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL
* date - 09.12.2006
* size - 4 mm (small fly)
* habitat - open land
* substrate - above moss

Sciaridae?

Mycetophilidae have a pair of spurs in all tibiae. Just in first pair of legs these spurs are not easily visible... perhaps...

My first impression was Sciaridae, too, but the posture is 'off' and several other details do not really fit, most importantly: the absence of the eye-bridge on the top of the head. So: Mycetophilidae it is.

I cannot on the basis of this picture. No wing venation is visible and that contains most valuable characters.
