Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Chaoborus crystallinus larva?

Hello,

There was a few of these floating not far from the surface of my pond on 15th October, near Lincoln UK. I think they were enjoying the warmth of the sun. Size approx. 10mm. I had adult probable Chaoborus crystallinus male and female this year.

definitely a Chaoborus larva, but without a detailed photo of the head, it is impossible to tell which species.

you can strikethrough 'maybe'.
it can only be seen in lateral view.
