Hello, Iīm looking for descriptions of some species but I canīt find them, with Hemipenthes villeneuvi, for instance, iīve seen this:

Name: Hemipenthes villeneuvei Francois, 1970: 203
Type: TL: France (HT IRSNB*)

But I canīt find the complete reference. I have this same problem with many families' species, is there any good database?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Paqui:

You need a Catalog to reveal species descriptions (e.g. Catalogue of Palaearctic Diptera).

For Bombylidae on worldwide scale look at: World catalog of bee flies.

In the bibliography you will find what you are looking for:

Francois, F. J. J. (1970): Bombyliidae (Diptera) Meconnus. V. Un Hemipenthes orophile nouveau: H. villeneuvei. - Bull. Ann. Soc. R. Entomol. Belg. 106: 203-205.

so long,
xylo

There are a few volumes on Abe Books but they are expensive.

I don't know if you will find what you want on Google Scholar..

You can find only vol3 of the diptera catalog as pdf format from the following address (by Paul Beuk)
