Encouraged with the response to my recent thread with Hymenoptera pictures, I've decided to post these, too.
August 12, 2006, Ozhigovo station.
Size 4mm.

There's also another picture, and I believe it's at least a close relative.
October 17, 2005, Naro-Fominsk, among fallen leaves (a negative film scan, sorry for quality).
The case is that this specific specimen was identified as a female of Aptesis (= Microcryptus) nigrocinctus Grav. (Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae (= Gelinae), Echthrini), hosts: larvae of Nematus (Tenthredinidae). Since I'm not quite sure I can fully rely on this ID source, could someone please confirm it?

Well, it's certainly an ichneumonoid, but it's hard to say whether it is from the Braconidae or Ichneumonidae, because we can't see the wing venation. It is possible to put it through a key (like Goulet & Huber) that works on other features but it wouldn't be easy :)

Certainly an Ichneumonid, I work a lot with Pitfall samples, and I encounter these beauties all the time.
So Ichneumonidae (characteristic is also the connection between tergite 2 and 3, in braconidae it is almost always fused), subfamily Phygadeuontinae (=Gelinae), probably even genus Gelis! (not the same species as the one above)
Greetings,

Hello

Aptesis belong to the tribe Echthrini or in Fauna Europae in tribe Hemigasterini ?
In which tribe ?
Thank you
Louis

Well, as far as I can understand, Aptesis is confirmed ;)?
