1st photo of the decade. One Trichocera sp.

Taken today a few moments ago when I was reading some posts in DI.

It's a pity ovipositor is not visible - that could help. On the other hand, abdomen seems to have bands of different colours, so this might be T. annulata.

here a photo showing the ovopositor. Not a good one but might help to confirm annulata..
Thanks.

Yes, this confirms T. annulata ;)
Paqui is right about this species being the only trichocerid with published record in Portugal so far. It was earlier found in February 1999, in Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela and that record was published in: CARLES-TOLRÁ M. 2001. Algunos dípteros nuevos para Portugal (Insecta, Diptera). Zool. baetica, 12: 91-100.
So Jorge, you have the second finding of Trichocera from Portugal as far as I know :)

Dear Andrius

I have found a few months ago a new trichocerid for Portugal:
Trichocera regelationis --> http://www.dipter...ad_id=9018
