Hi,

does this Geomyza need preparation to see more details ? It was a bit dry when I took it from malaise trap. July 18.2009 Loviisa, Finland.

Hi Jari,

I expect this to be a female of Geomyza hackmani. To be sure you should study sternite 8. I think I sent you my paper "Notes on the Fallen collection of Opomyzidae (Diptera) in the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet, Stockholm" (1999). In this paper you find drawings of sternite 8 of the species of the so-called combinata-group. Although it looks like a female of G. hackmani, G. balachowskyi can't be ruled out with certainty without studying sternite 8.

Oh yes, hackmani it is :) Thank's again. The collecting data is the same as the previous tripunctata. Same malaise trap, only date is differend.
