Thread subject: Diptera.info :: my first (!) Hippoboscidae - Pseudolynchia canariensis

Hi


I saw this one in June 2009... It attached to my hand when I was near river Dão. It was the first hipobboscid I saw here. They are extremely rare in this zone.

I thought in Ornithomyia avicularia... do you agree?

No, Looks quite different.
Need to check.

Might be Pseudolynchia canariensis.

Any pigeons around ?

yes. Sometimes they fly near this zone.
