Empis (Xanthempis) trigramma Male...I just put some of these in the Gallery. They are in the Latest Photo's (extended) in the left column.

Excellent, thank you! I saw your shots and had a strong feeling it could be the same species but I've been wrong so many times so I thought it best to let the experts decide.
