Hey! Just wanted to say great site :)

I'm no entomologist, and didn't even want to take a stab anything above (or is it below?) Order. Here are some pictures, the middle legs are ~3x as long as the whole body @ ~1.5 cm. Never seen a species like it around here and was just curios. If you need better pictures I can work on that today with some natural light.

It looks like a dexiine tachinid to me ... reminds me of Dexiomimops but that's a purely oriental genus I think.

Anyway, it's a really nice fly ... I am sure Jim O'Hara in Canada would give you a name, if you email him the link or photo :)

I have done a little research on local species, but nothing has turned up so far.

The length of the mid leg compared to the size of the body and other legs seems odd.

Yes, some of the dexiines have very long legs - like this neotropical one on my blog, with long hind legs :) http://chrisraper...blog/?p=24
