Good evening to all,
I collected some cocoones of Zygaena trifolli, took them home and and found that one of them was parasitized by a fly. The cocoon was left behing and found next to it a fly pupae which emerged today.
The cocoon was collected at Valladares - Vigo (NW Spain) 10m days ago at al altitude of 350 mts. in a meadow clearing.
Would be very pleased to know what tachinid are we talking about (if possible evidently).
Thanks once again
Rafael

The pictures an the host combined leads to Ceromasia rubrifrons. Nice find (not uncommon in Spain).

Last year I have also collected some pupae of Z. trifolii and one of them was also parasitized by this tachinid. Some days ago I done the same thing and now I have a tachinid pupa, lets see if it's the same species to emerge.:)
