Sardinia, May 2009.

Is this Dasyrhamphis ater or is anthracinus possible (subcallus is quite dusted, reading Chvala & Lyneborg )?

Thanks,

Steve

Whatever Dasyrhamphis it is, it is not ater.
Need to check my collection

Thanks for looking, Theo. I have the specimen (though currently on setting board so hard to photo). I also have a few males from same location -500m alt, open oak woodland with mixed cereal type grasses and herbs.

I agree anthracinus is most likely, though the antennae are more elongated in the picture by Chvala et al.
I have only the male in my collection.
