Thread subject: Diptera.info :: orange diptera? larvae -> Cecidomyiidae

Hello,
here is another larvae, also from the decaying interior of a Cirsium arvense stem. It's from last weekend. Length was about 7-8mm. Is it diptera? Any suggestions what it could be?

The orange colour I know is typical for many cecids, but I was puzzled by the pair of long curved spines - is this something you've seen in cecids before?

Are you sure it is Diptera not Coleoptera?
At least not Cecidomyiidae really.
