wow! :D How this could turn a tachinid!? :o Unbeliavable! Spectacular! Maybe the observations of Klaas can confirm mines. This fly behaves in an unusual way: it waits a lot of time and rarely flies. It moves a lot the first pair of legs. The pose is very caracteristic, all body plan made a 45º with the plan of the table.
And yep, I remember that tip! Acute ones and pincer like.
This fly was found in a densed florest with big arboreal ferns, big Quercus, etc etc it has a richness of flora. Indeed the most diverse flora in POrtugal resides in Buçaco with impressive trees. Cinochira atra!!!
