Do I see a Siphona-proboscis ?
It seems so.
In which case it must be Siphona, but it doesn't look like one, or something extreme like Ancistrophora miki.

Need to ponder on this one.

Darn ... I missed it and was fooled into thinking it was much bigger :( Siphona looks fine to me .. well, as "fine" as a Siphona looks at any time :D

I have only this view. The fly was on Achillea millefolium, diameter of the flowers ca. 6mm

It is very dark for SIphona, maybe tricky light, in any case, you can see the crossed subapicals of the scutellum, so it must be Siphona.
