hi flyforum,
I found a lot of these platypezidae sp. on mushrooms, on 23-10-2008, in the Amsterdam forest, The Netherlands.
Looking at these flies, I must be females perhabs laying eggs in the mushrooms.
What kind of platypezidae are these?
I am thinking of Platypeza consobrina, females.
Is this correct? B)

Don't have a key here. Perhaps
Protoclythia modesta?

Very nice sharp photos! It's female of
Protoclythia modesta. Do you have some photo, where the fungus is visible?

Thank you for your reaction and compliment Michal.
I don't have a 'total shoot' of the fungus.
On one picture, you can see a part of the fungus.
A good idea, to make next to the detailed macro pictures a total view of the habitat.
Greeting Robert,
