Dear All,

Is this a parasite fly? The photo is not of the best quality, but perhaps someone still can identify the fly?

greetings,
Shar

This unfortunate fly belongs to the empidid genus Empis.

Excuse me Kahis, but why Empis's R4+5 do not forked?

P.S. And why "unfortunate"?

Thanks. Large branch is R4+5 fork, not R4+5 - R2+3 fork as I thought. Correct?

The fly is unfortunate because it has been killed by an Entomophthora fungus.
The visible fork is the small R4+5, quite close to the wing tip, the fork between the larger veins is much more basal.

Very interesting, I did not even know that the fly was dead.
