Size around 3mm.
May 13, 2006.
A number of these flies walked busily up and down the trunk of
Alnus
. I spotted some bark beetles (
Scolytidae, Dryocoetes alni
) and their predators (
Salpingidae, Rhinosimus planirostris
) on same tree. Is there a chance that the flies are somehow connected with these beetles?

A few specimens is collected, so maybe there's no need for further guessing. I just thought my remark could lead to a quick jump to a specific family/genus.
