another Gymnosoma from today (20.september.2008)
this time a female (~7mm) not far from this male (http://www.dipter...d_id=16307)

can be IDed?

Pity there is no lateral head shot.

Looks like it has hairs near the mouth edge but no bristles, as such - so could again be rungsi - Theo is the expert on those though - I have never seen any because they seem to be limited (from recent experience here) to southern/central Europe :)

Well, keep on dreaming ('being the expert'), I have seen very little rungsi, moreover, they seem to belong to different species, so I'm quite in the dark as well.

However,


This is not rungsi, too much of vibrissae.
The second option is a slightly aberrant clavatum.
