This beautifull Rhyncomyia was shot in Sierra Nevada, S Spain at 1850 masl. Feeding on Eryngium campestris. I wonder if somebody can reach species level? Thanks.

yep. Rhynchomyia sp. (in the new family Rhinidae) but it remains in Calliphoridae > Rhiniinae > Rhynchomyia sp.

Is it not possible to reach species level?

I don't think so. Only with genitalia.
