Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Painted-winged

No idea about this pretty one.

9th June 2008. M?laga, south Spain. Habitat: small, tiny watercourse, all water covered vith plants, specially Typha latifolia (the leaves that appears in the pics). Size: about 5-6 mm long.

Note: opening and closing the wings many times, if it's useful for identification.

My guess is a Ceroxys, Ulidiidae. The habitat fits C. urticae, but you probably have more species in Spain than we have in Britain.

In Spain are the nmext species:
Ceroxys hortulana,
Ceroxys unimaculata,
Ceroxys urticae.

What species is it?
