It is a Tachinini with well-developed palps, no strong parafacial bristles, and first flagellomere larger than pedicel. Is the bright yellow of the head real? Compare Archytas aterrimus, which does not have so much yellow and is usually smaller than 15 mm. There are also undescribed species related to A. aterrimus.
