Poor man! Yes, it is a male and the parallel-sided humeral strip and the indented yellow patch in the eye points to
V. vulgaris but the face looks more like
V. germanica. And I have never seen a
Vespula sp. with that long silvery hair! So I don't dare to give the species a name other than
Vespula cf. vulgaris!
