Thread subject: Diptera.info :: unknown sphaeroceridae

On 6th April 2024 I took pictures of this sphaeroceridae in Den Helder, Netherlands in a open space in a forest. Can someone please identify it? Thanks a lot. Greetings, Mario Renden

Should be female Lotophila atra but can't really see the scutellar bristles clearly nor the frons - do you have more images?

Dear Dave and others,

I have added two more pictures of its frons and two scutellar bristles? Is it now sure that this is lotophila atra?

Hi Mario,
Yes that's fine, there will be some other short setae around the edge of the scutellum, I can see one on the left but they do sometimes break off
