- front leg ?
- are the veins really so pronounced or is this a trick of light ?

It is either venosus or reticulatus and from what I an see from the front tibia .... likely venosus.

Which is pretty rare.

I'd vote for B. reticulatus:

Hind tibiae and tarsi of B. venosus are not thickened. See:

Extremely early for reticulatus (but would be as well for venosus).

Two weeks ago, dozens of Melontha melontha in the garden.
Usuallually, it's in May !:o
