Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Spider Fly (Acroceridae / Kugelfliege)

Hello;

I found this small-headed fly in a small forest sitting on a birch (Betula).

Is determination up to the species possible?

I did not find much information on this kind of flies; Acrocera orbiculus seems to be a candidate.

Location: Hesseberg, Forest, Sieboldshausen/Dramfeld, Süd-Niedersachsen (Lower-Saxony)
