Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Eupeodes (Lapposyrphus) lapponicus? (07.07.23) --> E. luniger

Hello,

a male from our garden (northwest Germany). I first thought of Eupeodes luniger, but there is a "wave" in vein R4+R5 (marked with a red arrow in pic #2). I am not sure, if it is strong enough to make this fly Eupeodes lapponicus.

Yes, there is a wave, but it is stronger in Lapposyrphus. Also, luniger has the sides of T5 yellow (as your animal) - black in Lapposyrphus.
