Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Could this be a Syrphidae? -> yes, at least Eristalinus

Not the best picture. The colouration makes me think Syrphidae (like Mesembrius genus), but the eyes make me doubt (not sure if it is Diptera...).

Hi,

Certainly Syrphidae, the genus is Eristalinus. I dont know the species in your area but maybe someone else does.

Oh that is amazing! Have not found a good source to list the species of south east asia, neither did references show the abdomen without a complex pattern (seemingly, from this angle).

Did not expect a genus from such picture, thank you!
