Here is another tiny Ephydrid from the place described in https://diptera.i..._id=106981. I found the white face striking. Is it another Parydra or something else?
Thanks for help, Sundew

Wing venation says Sphaeroceridae - I suspect this is Pseudocollinella humida (often mistaken for an ephydrid).

That is an interesting twist! So an "ephydridish" Sphaerocerid. Thread https://www.dipte..._id=104115 led me to the paper by Gatt (2001, https://www.biodi...9/mode/1up) and the differentiation of the species P. humida and P. jorlii. Conclusion: I need a better picture of the middle tibia. I hope I'll see the flies again, the water-filled rut is certainly dry by now in the heat.
Many thanks, Tony!
