Chloropidae, Chloropinae: Chlorops pumilionis (Bjerkander, 1778), the "goat fly". Together with Oscinella frit (L., 1758) it is the most harmful cereal fly in the Palaearctic. More than 1,060 articles, dissertations, and books dealing with this fly and its damages are presented in my "World Chloropidae online" database. The dark distal end of the fore tibia is a characteristicic feature for identification in connection with a deep gena and black antennae. It was described into the genus Musca and later treated also in the genera Oscinis and Siphonella. Out of the nine junior synonyms, Chlorops taeniopus Meigen, 1830 was the most used invalid name in the past. Additional more than 700 collected publications are listed under that name in the database.
