Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Pherbellia (Sciomyzidae)?-->Pelidnoptera (Sciomyzoidea)

Picture taken recently in east China (Zhejiang province). It looks like a Pherbellia to me. Is this the correct genus? Or should I look at other options? Many thanks in advance!

Looks like Pelidnoptera fuscipennis or Pelidnoptera nigripennis, Phaeomyiidae.

Great! Thank you Roger for the suggested identification. Pelidnoptera looks very similar. Seems that this species hasn't yet been recorded from China though.

I think, based on DNA, Pelidnoptera rejoined Sciomyzidae..

There is another species of Pelidnoptera which was found in the far east...

Thank you Roger for the links. I think there's a good chance of my specimen being Pelidnoptera triangularis recorded from Japan.
