Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Philonicus albiceps? No, cf. Neomochtherus alpinus

I photographed this Asilidae on a river bank in Susa Valley, Piedmont (Italy) at 1000 mt above sea level, on August 24th, 2019. Is it Philonicus albiceps?

The pictures don't seem to be the same specimen because one lacks the hind left tarsus. The first one could (with tarsus) could be Neomochtherus alpinus, the second one without the tarsus is something else, different hypopygium. Questions, questions, questions...
