Gymnocheta viridis or the other one? Coastal area, Vestfold, Norway 31May.

Hi Morton, Gymnocheta is correct (Chrysosomopsis auratus appears later and has only 3 post dc).

Thank you. I actually meant Gymnocheta magna, but presumably the pictures are not good enough for a safe determination. :)

Hi Morten, it should be magna indeed: the green stripe on parafrontalia and the green femora are perfectly visible! And compared to my viridis the mouthedge seems to be distinctly protruding. This one seems to be very rare (and not in Norway according to fauna-eu).
EDIT: The mouthedge is not as prominent as it should:

Probably a female viridis...

Thank you very much! Yes it is most likely viridis. I think that magna has been found in Norway. It's on Haraldeide's checklist.

The metallic green colour on femora is a very tricky feature, since it depends on the angle of view. Which cannot be varied on a picture :)
There is, however, a very nice alternative for females:
hairs on tergites 3&4 are erect in viridis, adpressed in magna.
Hence viridis.
