Hello,

I photographed this fly in Crecchio (CH), Italy, 250m a.s.l. on July 20th 2021. I think it is a Stratiomyidae, but is it possible to identify its genus or species from these photos?

Thank you in advance,
Emanuele

So, to Central European standards, this one is weird.
Clearly, long hairs are present on the back of the head all over and the legs are yellow. This is a non-existing combination in Central Europe.

S. albibarbus?

Thank you both for the help! If it doesn't match with any of the Central European species then I think it could only be S. albibarbus or S. harderseni. Unfortunately I don't know if it's possible to tell the difference between the two just from these photos.
