I am aware of large intraspecific size variations, but this one was especially small in comparison to some Calliphora vicina around.
Is this a Calliphora at all?

Hi Lorin,

I think, this is simply Calliphora vicina. I found 5 mm specimens, but they still were C. vicina...

Basicosta clearly yellow, so no doubt.

Size of adult depends on food supply in larval stage.

Thanks Theo, such an easy marker and I forgot to use it!

(however, basically relying on the British key - not sure what additional species might occur in eastern Austria...)
