These were all taken in East Sussex, South East England.
A on 18/11/05
B & C during October
C1 and C2 are the same fly

A is difficult to see, but seems to be Meliscaeva auricollis
(or in genus Episyrphus is you like).

B and C are Platycheirus.
I leave them to the real experts

They appear to be what we would have called Platycheirus scutatus before every hair splitter attacked the genus and found more and more cryptic species. :p

And B seems to be the female of Platycheirus peltatus!
