Could this be Fannia mollissima? Seen in my garden in West Sussex, UK on 25/04/2021.

Hi Dylan, I think you are right: a male Fannia mollissima (the long, curved hairs under the derrière should make it).

I agree! I'm a big fan of the Fanniidae, though they seem to be an underappreciated family here in the UK.
