Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinidae, Redtenbacheria insignis!

I had this interesting fly in june, southern Sweden.
I got the suggestion that it could be an Redtenbacheria insignis, and it seems like a good candidate. There aren't many records of these spicies either.. Are there any similar species to to consider in northern Europe?

There is nothing like Redtenbacheria except for ... Redtenbacheria !

So you are totally right.
Very rare species indeed.

Our friend in northern France recorded one on this forum, a few years ago.

So, was it in a Pine forest ? Oak ?

It was in mixed forrest, with a high element of oak.
