Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Anthomyiidae => Calythea species

Hi,

From a friend in the North-East of France, october 23rd 2019.
It looks like Calythea nigricans male, is that correct ?

Calythea seems right, but there are two species (C.pratincola and C. nigricans) and the differents between those two species is very difficult to make on photos, but C.pratincola should have a long dorsal seta on the fore tibia, which not seems present on your photos, ….so very good change it is indeed C.nigricans.
