Hello,
Seen yesterday in Montmartre cemetery, as always, a beautiful shiny black fly.
Which leaves me rather clueless...
Any pointer welcome.

Nikita,
Thanks a lot.
On another forum, someone suggested
H. ignava. What do you think of this tentative identification?

Hi Pierre.
It sems that your fly has white calypteres. H. ignava has dark calypters.

Nikita,
Well, thank you.
I'm not convinced that the halters are whitish on thid picture. I' would qualifiy them as rather little and dark.
I'll report this matter of colour to the original poster.
Thanks anyway.

Nikita,
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
You know how it is. You only understand what you are ready to understand. And I was clearly at the lowest level of understanding capability...
Now, it is clear.
