Hi


This photo was taken by Axel Rouvin, that grants me to show the photo. He want to know the species that this fly can belong... It was taken on 15 Aug. 2007 in Estuaire - Gabon. It is very distinctive and a beautiful tabanid.
Maybe, Theo you know this one.
Some kind of Tabanus, I think... Theo ? :)

IF it's ove 14 mm., I would say

Male Tabanus secedens

Common species in western and central Africa.

The ID is tentative, since it's a male, and I have only females.
Nevertheless, I'm pretty confident it is secedens or close relative.
