On the contrary! I suspect that even species level may be possible. Just I can't:(

Ok, thanks again! I don't remember if we have a Phoridae specialist among the members.

Sabine Brenner will answer very soon here. She is an expert on phorids. ;) And she belongs to the diptera.info as well.

Hallo,

good pictures of this Megaselia species. The typical thing about it is, that this species is very light. Not many Phorids have those yellow-orange palps. Anyway it is very hard to get it through the key because some important characters can not be identified on those pictures, sorry.
I am not sure about the sex of the species too, because the genitalia is covered by the wings. If it is female the determination is not possible, because there is no determination-key for Megaselia -females available at the moment.

Please excuse me that I cannot give more information.

best wishes
Sabine

I appreciate your help Sabine! Thanks!

Paulie, Shall I submit #2 and #3 to the gallery as Megaselia sp? B)

No need to ask. People can always submit. If they are not accepted, they will not make it into the Gallery. Sometimes I may wait to get some kind of confirmation. ;)
