Photographed on the weekend in the Stillbay area of South Africa. Appeared to be grazing on some fungus on the back of a lemon tree leaf. Approximately 6mm body length.
I would like to confirm the genus and progress if possible.

Thanks

Philip

That is a member of the tribe Minthoini, probably Mintho itself.
I need to check which genera you guys have

Yeap. Very clearly Mintho flavicoxa.

If you know what to look for, you can very nicely observe the orange frontal coxa (nomen est omen).

Well known from southern Africa (see Emden, 1960)
