Wet season early morning foraging on honeydew (4 mm). I know the images are indistinct. Anyone recognise a family (genus?).
Many thanks
Ian

Quick and dirty I'd say Anthomyzidae but there might be similar looking flies in your part of the world.

Message from Jindrich Rohacek:
Yes, it could be an Anthomyzid but the photo is poor to recognize the genus. It seems to have narrow wings with longitudinal darkening and hence resembling Amygdalops stenopteryx Roháček, 2008 (described from Thailand). However, Amygdalops is diverse in the Oriental Region so that it is possible that the photo is of another species (or even genus). Did the author of image capture the specimen ?
Yours, Jindrich

Many thanks Paul for the wonderful forum and your kind response. Not having the specimen is becoming a problem.
