Hi,
This Limoniid sat on the wall of our block some days ago. The wings are nicely coloured, and the femora have one dark ring apically. Can it be identified?

Discobola it is! The Catalogue of the Craneflies of the world (
http://nlbif.eti....esults.php) lists two species for Germany, both lacking in the Nematocera list of Berlin and Brandenburg (
http://www.orion-...ptera1.htm). So I obviously made a quite rare find! According to the descriptions by Stary (1974,
http://nlbif.eti...._1974e.pdf),
D. annulata fits best, considering the wing pattern and colour of the halteres. Many thanks for leading me to the hot trail!

Yes, I think you're right.
D. caesarea (I've the sketch of
caesarea and
annulata wings) has a more dense dark pattern in the wing, while
annulata looks really like this one.
