Hi


* locality - Nave de Santo Ant?nio - Serra da Estrela (Star Mountain) - Seia - PORTUGAL
* date - 2007.05.06
* size - 7 mm (medium fly)
* habitat - cervunal
* substrate - granite


Rhagio sp. very, very dark. Almost coal colour.
Which one? I hope it is possible to get species level. :)

EDIT ---> Title changed from "Rhagionidae - Rhagio sp." to "Rhagionidae - Rhagio niger"

Dr. Majer J?zsef agree with my hypothesis. He said: "There is great prabality of your fly is a female Rhagio niger (Wiedemann en Meigen, 1820)." :)

Surprise:

This is actually the female of Rhagio aterrimus Zeegers & Alvarez Fidalgo.
Published yesterday, if you are struggling to find it !
This photo is mentioned in the article.

Note the aberrant wing venation, which proves to be pretty common in this species.
