A female Phasia hemiptera - I'd guess a late first brood :)

Many thanks. Most things up here are a few weeks behind! Having had a quick look on the net, this species seems quite scarce in my County, Yorkshire. Would you know if this is correct? Thank you.

Yes, generally speaking it gets rarer the further north you go but tachinids are also fairly under recorder, when compared to the big, blousy butterflies ;)
