Hi,
Can anybody help with determination of this fly species?
I take the photo on 21 May 2013 Kokkola, Finland.
Regards Pentti.

Hi,
Could it be a male of muscid?
Regards.

Yes it is.
Phaonia consobrina or near I think. I can't tell more without seeing completely legs chaetotaxy (mis tibia especially), prealar and arista...

I just noticed some presutural acrostichals, so it is more likely
Phaonia goberti or
P. wahlbergi (if arista pubescent).
