a large muscid-type fly, glossy black, with wings folded lengthways in a distinctive manner. It was running about on a leaf, looking quite predatory, beside a small pond. It reminded me a little of Lispe, running about on the ground. Quite unlike the many muscid-like flies about at the moment. Does anyone have an idea of what genus it might be? Specimen collected.
