Hi,
this fly looks similar to Neria cibaria but its head has got a larger black patch. Can someone confirm Neria cibaria or give it another name? Photo was taken in Lenzen near River Elbe on June 14, 2012, afternoon.
Thank you,
Hans

Hello,
after investigating several websites I think it must be Neria commutata.
Could that be confirmed, please?
Thanks, Hans

To cite Victor Nilsson, " in
N. cibaria the frons is almost completely yellow, in
N. commutata it is dark in the posterior half" (see
http://www.dipter...pid=120227) - so this female should be a
N. commutata indeed :).
