Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Suillia variegata

this fly won't go through the Opomyzidae key as it has a well-developed alula and plumose arista. Perhaps Suillia then, but the wings are very dark? Suillia variegata, perhaps?

now there's a problem with S. variegata as there are humeral (postpronotal?) setae present!! :@

any suggestions?

it is S. variegata for sure. No humeral bristle.

Many thanks indeed. So 'seta' in this context means bristle then, rather than just 'hairs'? :)
